About the speaker
CreativeMornings San Francisco and The Archery are co-hosting a Creative Happy Hour during SF Design Week to bring together local creatives such as artists, designers, architects, musicians, filmmakers, writers, and more. The goal of the event is to create an environment in which creatives can connect, be inspired and maybe even find new partners for their next project.
Our event will feature selected creatives with a few minutes of stage time each. From presentations to performances: everything is welcome. The theme of SF Design Week is “Attention”. To not veer too far off course, we are asking our speakers to muse on questions at the intersection of attention and sustainability such as:
⭐️ It’s not looking good for our planet. How do we get people to pay attention?
⭐️ The future of our planet is in our hands. How do we get people to pay attention to sustainability?
⭐️ What is the role of artists, designers, and creatives of all kinds in co-creating a world we all want to live in?
⭐️ What is the responsibility creatives have in shaping a sustainable future?
⭐️ How can the creative community influence the way that society views climate change?
⭐️ What are some of the ways that your creative practice raises awareness about the environment?
10th Floor Studio is the collective works of Jerome Tavé and Kyle Lawson. The two met in 2008 while studying at Savannah College of Art & Design. They combined their personal studio practices in early 2018, collaboration being an integral part of their processes. Long stints of material experimentations, and cross-species explorations have brought fungi-inspired narratives to the center of their work. In a time where climate action cannot be ignored, they use their studio practice to contribute to the shift away from anthropocentrism.
Red Dot Studio is an architecture practice that
believes when you listen, watch and learn the
making comes naturally. We are a diverse but
small and cohesive group of architects and
designers working in studio to create shelter
for people and community. Together we can
nourish the future by building regenerative
Places.
