Hallease Narvaez

Video Producer at StumbleWell, LLC.

Atlanta, GA, USA

Hallease Narvaez, known simply as Hallease, is a filmmaker and storyteller based in Atlanta, Georgia. She’s produced original online content for PBS Digital Studios, Target, Google, and YouTube through her production company, StumbleWell.

Her first comedy web series, “This Coulda Been An Email”, was featured at the BronzeLens Film Festival in Atlanta and is available to watch on YouTube and KweliTV. She is a former YouTube Black Voices Fund recipient and a former Adobe Creative Resident.

When she’s not telling stories online and sparking creative conversations with fellow artists through her podcast “Tryna Be Somebody”, she teaches everything she knows about storytelling. She’s currently producing and directing her first short film, “Prototype,” and completing a science fiction comic book, “Separate The Wheat From The Chaff.”

About this FieldTrip

I love watching presentations on various topics across social media, especially when people use screen grabs of articles, reference photos, and research papers. It can be a really great tool for short-form storytelling, so let’s create a video together in Premiere for Mobile that uses background removal to highlight you talking to the camera and either teaching us something or telling an engaging story.

By the end of this session, you should be able to hop into Premiere for Mobile with your A-Roll and screen grabs and edit together a video educating us on something you’re passionate about.

What to know or bring

  • If you have time, record yourself on your phone explaining your topic to us. You’ll probably need to create a rough script of your topic or story so you know when and where to include your screen grabs (which you should have ready as well) for our session, so you can begin editing after it.

  • Here's an example of a story time I created recently: https://www.instagram.com/p/DYFiT-iuys-/

  • Premiere Pro for Mobile for iphone users to follow along. I'll also share my phone screen.

What to expect

Workshop format!

A hands-on session where participants get to build, craft, or create something tangible.

It will be recorded!

The recording will be shared within 24 hours in the follow up email for a 30-day window, and available at the top of this page. Make sure to register for access!

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
