Cicely Mitchell

Dr. Cicely E. Mitchell launches big ideas that make large cultural impact. From performance stages, festivals and large-scale music events, Cicely's expertise is a gravitational force for change. As a producer, she leverages extraordinary talent for economic development, convening, curating, and execution to produce events that are win-wins for all parties. She has a proven track record in music programming and artistic direction and is the co-owner of Missy Lane’s Assembly Room, a social hub for music lovers located in the heart of downtown Durham. She is the co-founder of the original Art of Cool Project, a 501(c)(3) jazz presenting nonprofit organization in Durham. Cicely is the former Artistic Director of SummerStage at Golden Belt, an outdoor stage abutting Hi-Wire Brewery and former Creative Director for jazz programming at Beyu Cafe. She recently produced Biscuits and Banjos Festival for Pulitzer Prize Winner, Rhiannon Giddens.
