What can a design thinking approach teach us about love?

About the speaker

Chelsea is the Director of Creative Engagement for Causeway, a local organization that inspires and equips Chattanoogans to develop smarter solutions to our city’s toughest challenges. For the last two years she has helped Causeway develop its brand, diversify its network, and strengthen its programs–all in the name of making social innovation more accessible in Chattanooga. Before coming to Causeway, Chelsea graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from UTC, and gained her earliest design experience interning with World Vision, the largest humanitarian aid organization in the world. During her time there she designed a social media campaign that broke the organizations current record for engagement. She has worked with several local firms, companies, and organizations including: The Company Lab, LAUNCH, Glass House Collective and Widgets & Stone. In 2014, Chelsea was one of ten young designers from around the world selected for Camp Firebelly in Chicago–an intensive apprenticeship for young designers looking to use their powers for good. Chelsea is a member of AIGA, an advisor for the artist collective, 800, and Chattanooga’s city ambassador for Hey, What’s Good In. Much of her work utilizes alternative mediums, and deals with themes of connectivity, ownership, and community action.
