About the speaker
Carolyn Wintersteen is a founding member of Theatre B and currently serves as the Executive Director. Prior to her work with Theatre B, she held administrative leadership positions at Trollwood Performing Arts School, Prairie Public Broadcasting, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fargo Moorhead. She was an adjunct instructor at MSUM and NDSU, and taught Theatre and Speech at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. Carrie earned a B.A. in Theatre from Gonzaga University in Spokane and an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Pittsburgh. She has performed with the Black Hills Playhouse, Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival, Theatre L’Homme Dieu, and Commonweal Theatre, among others. At Theatre B, she has appeared in nearly 30 productions. In 2017 she was awarded the Lake Region Arts Council’s McKnight Artist Fellowship to develop a new play and tour to the Minnesota and Boulder Fringe Festivals.
Carrie is very active in the community, serving on boards, commissions, and focus groups. She enjoys getting off the grid; riding the motorcycle or tandem with her husband David; and savoring fine wine, cheese, and chocolate.
