About the speaker

Brett Gilmour is a commercial photographer whose work seeks to seamlessly blend natural and artificial light in the studio and on location. Brett’s work is featured in print and digital advertising campaigns around the world.

His clean crisp photography has attracted attention from global brands such as John Deere, Ki Furniture, Gensler, NOVA Chemicals, General Electric, Brookfield, Chevron, AECON, The Nature Conservancy, B + H Architecture, Wolesley and Nutrien.

His photography career started in the Canadian Rockies as an adventure sports photographer chasing the moment human/s, light and nature came together in a perfect frame. These days he is based in Calgary, Alberta and goes back to the mountains to find peace, inspiration, and rejuvenation.

Brett teaches photography workshops at Universities and to photographers. His architectural photography has earned local and international awards including the Golden Nugget, the most prestigious architectural photography award in Western North America.

Brett served on the CAPIC Prairie Board of Directors for 10 years. He was a Board Member of the Graphic Designers of Canada, Alberta South branch; the Professional Photographers of Canada, Southern Alberta chapter; and the Ad Rodeo.
