What are Virtual FieldTrips?
FieldTrips are meetups to interact, learn and collaborate in an effort to level-up your creative life. Built on top of our 20,000 monthly attendees at CreativeMornings talks, FieldTrips are community-organized events built on the spirit of generosity that has powered CreativeMornings events for the past 10 years.
Thanks for participating! We’re lucky to have you.
Attend a Virtual Concert and Gathering with Corrina Keeling
April 30, 9:00pm - 11:00pm EDT. Hosted at FieldTrips on Zoom
About this FieldTrip
Join us virtually for live music AND engaging conversation with singer, songwriter Corrina Keeling for our third installment of what we’re calling ‘CreativeLounge.’ Join from your home, crank up the volume, dance, and connect with the other creatives in your global community.
CreativeLounge offers a unique opportunity to connect with musicians from your home to theirs. In some ways, this feels like a private concert; in other ways – seeing all the smiling faces joining from around the world, bopping their heads or full out dancing – this is a global celebration of music and how it feeds and nourishes us.
In true CreativeMornings fashion, this event will involve break out sessions and an opportunity to connect, share your experience, and offer your thoughts on curated questions with other attendees – one attendee recently shared: breakout sessions were “surprisingly candid and meaningful as it is in person.”
About Corrina Keeling (featured artist)
Multidisciplinary artist Corrina Keeling creates music that paints vivid pictures and tells stories rich with honesty, experience and insight. Her music carries the spirit of her passion for justice and kindness, and her lyrics speak with poetic maturity to the universal stories of our human family, calling us all to deep reflection, authenticity, courage and compassion. Informed by an era of socially conscious storytellers like Joni Mitchell & CSNY, she is a sophisticated songwriter and a technically accomplished rhythmic powerhouse, using music as medicine for complex times. Her live performances are sacred containers for her audiences to celebrate, grieve, heal, and imagine what’s possible.
About your Host
One of the simpler but important pleasures that COVID-19 has taken from us is the ability to gather and enjoy live music. We are partnering with Locals Lounge and Side Door to find ways to change that. CMVan alumni speaker and CM volunteer Ian Cromwell would be hosting this event, in collaboration with Christine Bissonnette (FieldTrip Vancouver Lead).
Since 2016, Ian Cromwell has been host and curator of Locals Lounge, a live interview and performance series devoted to exploring Vancouver’s underground indie music scene and providing connection through shared experience. Ian is a CreativeMornings alumni, and spoke at our November 2018 event on the theme of restarting creativity.
Locals Lounge invites audiences to meet the human beings behind Vancouver’s music scene, with an intimate and interactive show that combines live musical performance with in-depth interviews. Our artist roster crosses multiple genres to represent the full range of the talent in our city; tear down the barrier between the stage and the seats, and take your place inside Vancouver’s music community.
