“You’re either in a storm, coming out of a storm, or getting ready to go in a storm.”
Nashville native and emerging poet, Anita Smith recounts the series of storms in her life as seasons of wilderness. From teenage pregnancy, abuse, and addiction to housing insecurity and attempts at suicide, this survivor teaches us that you’re either in a storm, coming out of a storm, or getting ready to go through one. “I was down. I was broken, y'all. But I never gave up.” Anita believes what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger and in every season of wilderness—for everyone experiencing them—Anita recognizes the supernatural ways that provisions are consistently being made on our behalf.
