Angelina Villalobos Soto transforms walls into vibrant stories of identity, resilience, and social justice, connecting communities through art.

Muralist Angelina Villalobos Soto invites us into her world where art becomes a bridge between cultures, stories, and communities. Drawing inspiration from her Mexican-American heritage and the lush landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, Villalobos infuses identity, resilience, and social justice into her work. From the Redmond Transit Center mosaics to her Meta Mural collaboration with her sister, her projects transform public spaces into living, interactive experiences. Guided by the belief that murals reflect collective identity, she shares how community collaboration and personal struggles—such as her family’s challenges with homelessness and addiction—shape her artistic philosophy. With a spray can in hand, Villalobos turns resistance into beauty, amplifying voices often left unheard.

About the speaker

My artist name is onesevennine. I’m a muralist, painter, educator, and illustrator with over 10 years of experience. I work primarily on murals that accentuate the spaces in which they live. I have a blog called My Office for the Day where I share all my projects and processes. I’m mindful of how art interacts with the community and cherish the opportunities to create vibrant and engaging murals that leave lasting impacts. My core mission is to make art accessible to all and to lead by example.
