What are FieldTrips?
FieldTrips are meetups to interact, learn and collaborate in an effort to level-up your creative life.
We’re limiting these events to only 25 people, they’re like an intimate dinner party. Your absence will be felt so please make sure that you can definitely attend if you sign up. Also, we’re in the prototyping phase, so come with an open mind and be prepared for anything.
Thanks for participating! We’re lucky to have you.
An Introduction to Design Strategy
January 29, 8:00am - 9:30am CST. Hosted at Austin Center for Design
About this FieldTrip
In this studio tour and roundtable discussion, participants will visit the Austin Center for Design to get an overview of what strategic design thinking looks like in practice. The Center’s founder (and Past CMATX speaker) Jon Kolko will walk the group through the strategic design thinking philosophy that the school teaches, discuss some of the challenges of learning this process, and then host a roundtable discussion on the practical implications of bringing design strategy into your work.
Chameleon Cold-Brew is Austin’s original consciously-crafted, organic cold-brew coffee.
Austin Center for Design embraces an educational pedagogy focused on empathy, abductive reasoning, and rapid prototyping. All of these core pillars stand upon a foundation of relevance of impact: focusing on problems worth solving.
