The Filson Historical Society

part of a series on Reflection

About the speaker

Al Snow, born Allen Ray Sarven, is a professional wrestler, trainer, and owner of Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He gained mainstream fame in the WWE during the 1990s with his unique "Head" persona, where he carried a mannequin head to show his character's mental instability. Now, as head of OVW and through his passion for storytelling and mentorship, he's shaping the next generation of wrestling talent, emphasizing the importance of in-ring psychology, training, and character development. Leading the charge at OVW, Al Snow was heavily featured in the Netflix docuseries Wrestlers, giving the world an inside look at Al's work at OVW, the entrance of two new partial owners, Mayor Craig Greenburg and Matt Jones, and their regular broadcasts.
