After-hours w/ Jordan Satterfield
March 12, 7:30pm - 9:30pm EDT. Hosted at Ohio City Phoenix Cafe
We’ve been roasting coffee in Cleveland for over 20 years, building community and coffee culture in the process. We operate four cafés around Cleveland, roast coffee for over 100 wholesale customers around Cleveland, and do private coffee and espresso catering. We’re part of the reason that Travel & Leisure magazine named Cleveland one of America’s best coffee cities in 2014.
Greyt Culture and Phoenix Coffee Co. invite the CreativeMornings Cleveland community to attend an After-Hours art reception celebrating the latest artist to be featured in the iconic Ohio City cafe.
After the cafe closes for regular business on Thursday, March 12th, it will re-open as a classic cocktail lounge for just a few hours. Free to attend, The cash bar will run with the non-profit partnership of Ohio City Inc. and CAN Journal, and help support our regular programs fostering conversation for Cleveland’s art and entrepreneurship communities.
This is the first of only a few opening receptions at Phoenix Coffee this year. We will feature the artworks of Jordan Satterfield. We hope you’ll join us.
Jordan Satterfield is a Cleveland, Ohio based artist, and architectural designer. His process as an artist is heavily influenced by a background in architecture and design, and each work lies in combining the two vocations. Conversely, his art also serves an escape from the often technical guidelines that so heavily affect daily workflow within architecture. You may notice that parts of the built environment influence both the subject matter and materiality in some of his paintings. It is a cathartic experience for him to take certain aspects used so rigidly in architecture, and experiment by abstracting these aspects into a new visual experience. Jordan’s art has become a contrast and a counterpart to his daily professional life.
