About the speaker

After studying Cultural Anthropology in college, 21-year-old Adam
traded his textbooks and hit the road for an immersive study of
foreign culture. While working in his hometown of Chicago selling
beer at the baseball stadiums during most of his summers, he
spent the next 27 years on a variety of adventures around the
world. His pursuits during his travels to 113 countries has ranged
from university student to guidebook writer to hitchhiker to
hedonist to humanitarian worker to graduate student to educator.
Along the way, he obtained a couple of graduate degrees, was a
Fulbright Scholar, wrote a couple of books, started a non-profit
organization, appeared as inspirational speaker and took on
admin roles in international schools. He currently works out of CIC
Cambridge, running an entrepreneurship program for high school
students for TiE Boston. His favorite travel spots are Brazil, India,
Syria and Mexico and his hobbies include swimming, yoga,
cooking and attending music festivals. He is buoyed by his feeling
of camaraderie with people of all stripes and motivated by the
indomitable spirit and innate goodness of people from far corners
of the world.
