About the speaker

Brandy Michele Adams is a neurodivergent artist dedicated to self-healing and transformation through contemporary art. By instrumentalizing sound, movement, meditation, and imagination, Adams creates regenerative spaces and environments of care. The artist’s work is informed by the profound experience of surviving a spinal cord injury caused by a drunk driver, which led to her being bedridden for two years. The aftermath of this experience led to relearn stillness—listening deeply to her body as her brain navigated the complexities of recovery.

Over the past year, Adams has worked closely with surgeon Dr. Marc Dean, to better understand how her invisible disability has shaped her mental health. Through over 30 years of self-study, Adams has come to realize she exists on a frequency different from much of the world—living with hearing impairment, bipolar disorder, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, ADHD, PTSD, dyslexia, and anxiety.

Healing has been a long and isolating journey, but in solitude, Adams discovered a truth: what we hear profoundly impacts our mental currency, state of being, and how we process life. This is a conversation we need to have. Her experimental self-curated project, Can U Hear, opens May 9th as a 30-day experimental experience guiding you through the five senses to carve out the conversation of "Do we feel, how do we feel?"

We Are All Stars is a brand built by Brandy, empowering others to build through the lens of sustainability. Utilizing art, experience and performance as a vehicle of wellness, we integrate more mindful conversations into contemporary, corporate and public spaces. W.A.A.S. is focused on bringing more awareness to mental health as a full spectrum — integrating brain care as part of our health care.
