The latest episode of "Have the Audacity" is out, I'm participating in @creativemorning 's #releaseday2026 - a chance to work on a creative project in May and for everyone to release them together (even before they are "perfect") on 29th May.

I've been meaning to work on creating my own floral painting style, so I'm using this chance to put in the time. And you get to see my progress! The rough guts and all.

For a long time, I didn’t feel great about putting my recipes online.

They never quite made sense on their own.

The way I cook comes from Japanese menu design — thinking about color, taste, and how dishes relate to each other on a table.

And I’ve always cooked with whatever I can find locally, which means things are always shifting.

I’m so thrilled to finally have a platform where I can convey these relational aspects of my creative process.

My hope is that by un-silo’ing recipes — and adapting them to what’s around you — it gets your creative juices flowing, and you can have as much fun in the kitchen as I do!

ROT FEST: when things turns to shit, make compost. May 29 in the U.S. is National Learn About Composting Day. I'm hosting a gathering that day which will feature a clothesline art sale of a series of small prints/collages on the theme of compost and decomposition. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union. We'll gather to view the art, share conversation, and enjoy mushroom dishes, and fermented food and beverage.

A Progressive, Secular Vision for America in 2040

Developing a Strategy, Plan, Roadmap, Generational "Calls to Action” and Supporting Illustrative Infographics

We do not need heaven to justify kindness. We do not need scripture to demand justice. We need only the recognition that we share one Earth, one brief life, and one collective future — and that how we treat each other is the only legacy that matters. This is the animating idea behind a progressive, secular vision for America in 2040: a society shaped not by dogma or the interests of the powerful, but by empathy, critical thought, ecological care, and structural justice. We need a vision and plan for how we will collectively do that. Our project is to develop and promote a draft of materials to kick off our discussions and action.

Underlying every element of the vision and plan is a humanist commitment: to critical thinking over dogma, to empathy over indifference, to ethical development as a lifelong practice. Public education is universal and grounds children in science, civic reasoning, and the full sweep of human history. We teach not what to believe, but how to think. And we hold ourselves — as citizens, as institutions, as a nation — to that same standard of honest self-examination. This vision and plan is not a fixed doctrine. It is a living commitment, to be tested and refined by every generation that inherits it. The work begins now.
