He is the FIU inaugural Ashoka U Changemaker Faculty Fellow, BME 2017 Genius Fellow, Miami Fellow Class VI and a fulltime professor at the fourth largest University in the USA. He is a member of a number of local boards including Miami Dade County Art in Public Places, Musuem of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora, Opa-Locka Community Development Corporation and Dance Now!
