Part of compassion is being able to see things through other people’s eyes.
Where has your time gone? Has it gone toward finding your grind or finding your genius? Or has your time gone consuming and paying attention to other people’s lives or someone else’s genius.
We have to work a lot harder at intentionally building relationships so we can get to know one another – so that we can destroy racial implicit biases we all have.
I told myself I can go either go down this dark road of despair and rely on others for everything or I could take the necessary steps to try to become as independent as possible. I chose not to be a victim of my circumstances. I chose to continue to fight. I may be an underdog, but I am definitely not a quitter.
If you work at it, you’re going to get it. I’m living proof of that.
