I am a millennial who is learning to follow her passion without losing heart no matter how unrealistic or impractical it looks.
writing, creative writing, literature, dreaming, empowerment
staying inspired; building creative community
This is a tough one, but when I used to take piano lessons, one of my teachers told me to never let my music stop. While I don't play as intentionally as before, I find this advice applies beyond music. As I live my life, pursue dreams and community I should never let the song my life sings stop. I should never let the rhythm I run to die out.
Ultimately I want to own my own businesses from a editing-consulting firm to a coffeeshop. Don't really have a back up for that.

Don't live a safe, comfortable life. Remember a turtle only advances when it sticks its head out of the shell.
Compassion is not compassion without action.
If there is a question burning in your mind. If there's a problem that just won't let you go. If there's a system so broken that it makes you want to cry. If there's a friend or a stranger whose pain has become your own. If there is a gift that you have that drove you here today in search of a way to give it; then you have found your 'why', and you hold one spark to the next great awakening.
It is really important to have integrity with what you do and how you do it.
Minimalism to me is about the truth of a thing, the thinginess of a thing, when you take stuff away from a thing and your left with a thing that works on its own.
I think that everything in life is all about experience. You have to go out there and live it.
Never stop being amazed by your surroundings.
Don't just get inspired, actually do something.
Stop thinking about the result, and start thinking about the process.
If they don't get it, go somewhere that does. You don't get tomorrow over again. You don't get next week over again. If you're working with people who are truly stuck in a way that they cannot get out of it, you need to find someone who gets it.
No one is stopping you except the little voice in your head that says 'It's not your turn and you're not supposed to.'
Everyone's not gonna love your work, but you don't need everyone.
I have no doubt that the people in this room are going to succeed - the question is, are you going to matter?
Act more than you plan.
This led me to a desire not to live a life of art, but to rather artfully live.
