Vincent Purcell is a social entrepreneur and social impact design based in Baltimore, MD. He is the Founder and Director of boomspace, an East Baltimore makerspace that unleashes the creative and entrepreneurial potential of at-risk youth and young adults. Vincent is a Robert W Deutsch Foundation Social Design Fellow, and an Open Society Institute-Baltimore Community Fellow with distinction from the Open Society Foundation Campaign for Black Male Achievement. He has been recognized for his accomplishments at the intersection of technology, maker culture and social justice for underrepresented communities of color and low-income communities. He holds a B.Sc. in Media Arts and Studies from the University of Kentucky, and an M.A. in Social Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
