After 10 years as a professional musician then 25 years working in television, first as a runner on music promos, then on camera before becoming established as a documentary editor based in London, I was looking for a change. So we evolved my wife's grandmother's old house and the surrounding buildings in the tiny Transylvanian village of Bãla from a holiday home into a retreat where we plan to invite intrepid tourists to relax in the rustic environment. Organic locally sourced food, yoga, meditation, walks and workshops in support of local farmers and crafts will all feature as well as an annual festival, BãlaFest.
