Born in Eritrea during the Cold War and moving a lot when I was little, eventually to Titusville, Florida where my father worked on the Apollo program for NASA. Watching mighty Saturn V rockets blast off from my own back yard I became deeply fascinated with space and found my biggest outlet through drawing. My dad's long career with NASA brought my family here where I've lived ever since. I studied fine art in college, and discovered graphic design, but returned to illustration full time in my thirties. I now work for one of the design firms that inspired me when I was in college. When I'm not at work I spend most of my time cycling around H-Town with my beautiful fiancé.
Cycling, map making, Houston's visual art scene, cooking thai curry.
