As a kid, I used to read literary folios that my father brought home from the university he was working in. Stories about heartaches and happy endings filled my days—the kind that are between a whisper and a scream. I remember reading them repeatedly until my father brings home another one. But when he stopped working at the university, so did the arrival of the folios at home. I didn’t understand it then, but I craved for stories—and that moment made me wish, back in a low-cost housing in Manila, to have my own stories.

Hi, I'm Neriza. I'm a writer and I believe in the magic of words. Words, to me, have always been a soothing balm to a sore heart.
