Manon van Hoeckel

Manon van Hoeckel is an Amsterdam-based designer who aims to expose assumptions and spark debate. In December 2014 she graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. Her project In Limbo Embassy, a traveling embassy for and by asylum seekers ‘in limbo', was recently nominated for a Dutch Design Award in the category Communication. Printed Matters, part of In Limbo Embassy, questions the way in which way refugees can contribute to society; it is a confronting series of ‘official’ portraits of the Ambassadors that can be sold under the right to freedom of expression.
