André Platteel Allow creativity to flow through you
Without the volunteer help to start a company with no money it was not going to work. You need a community, a building community, that spreads the word itself—they're all ambassadors, you need them to build the ship, or a project like this. As you know, 'cause you're all creative people—If you're creative, you find creative people to realize something, right?
We came aboard the Europa to say: "Is there another way of transporting goods from A to B, without having pollution?" Well, it was obvious that WE were transported across the Atlantic, by sailing vessel. So, why couldn't we then transport coffee, or cocoa, or olive oil to and from the Carribean?

It was beautiful because the pressure of success was gone and the time to explore what my creativity was, what I wanted to put into this world, started.
One thing is for sure, we are all creative beings. But do we give ourselves the time, and the space, and the environment to experiment that? To find that out?

I thought a good idea was to visualise these user generated profiles
So I'm not in control over what I perceive. And my information is being withheld from me, based on what the algorithm knows about me.
And because I'm in China, I'm not able to tweet.
Because I'm a girl, I'm only seeing lingerie ads.
These data profiles almost become your virtual identity. And you can almost say instead of 'what you eat is who you are' it's 'what you generate is who you are'.
This image was allowed in the 70's, and now we're not allowed anymore to post it on Facebook. What would this mean for the dutch culture? Would we become more prudish? Or would our image on nudity change?
We're always talking about how we can protect ourselves, but we never talk about against what.
I think the problem is not about storing data. I think it's about the use of data and what corporations do with it. Because for me, data is data and it's just a neutral product. And I think it's the systems actually that are flawed and discriminate users from seeing certain information.
