As I've been doing art, there's been this process of un-learning design.
That's what creativity is—assaulting uncertainty on a daily basis.
Nobody wakes up in the morning thinking, "I can't wait to crank out a steaming pile of crap today." And yet it happens.
Part of being a good artist, or even a good human, is to travel more.
I think a lot of these infographics now are not very interesting because the underlying data itself is not very interesting. I think good infographics, good data design, has to begin with a secret or with an insight that you can deliver to people and that can only be revealed by the design of that data in a particular way.
Build pockets of stillness in your life.
