Katie Kapczynski is a Visitor Services specialist, an artist, and a lover of museums and travel. She has a Masters in Art Museum and Gallery Studies from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom and has been working in museums since 2009. Ms. Kapczynski has worked for Northumbria University Gallery in Newcastle, UK, and in Washington, D.C. at Washington National Cathedral, the Newseum, and Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens. Since 2017, Katie has been the Visitor Services Manager at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida. She has also volunteered at the Society of the Cincinnati’s Anderson House, Phillips Collection, and the Smithsonian American History Museum. At Vizcaya, Ms. Kapczynski is the Chair of the interdepartmental Visitor Services Committee and sits on the new DEAI Committee, which is part of a new institutional initiative to advance strategic priorities related to diversity, equity, access and inclusion in all aspects of the organization’s structure and programming.
