My father was born during the Great Depression, the youngest of seven children. He worked nearly 70 hours a week as a janitor at a small Catholic church on the South Side for more than 60 years to provide for his family, and still found time to help friends and family with projects, repairs and odd jobs. He did it because he liked working hard, and he liked helping people. I strive for the same.
