I am a surface pattern designer living in sunny Florida. I’m influenced by the lush tropical plants, sunsets and nature that surround me, as well as the diverse culture. I love using texture and color and playing with positive and negative space. I like to combine hand drawn art, doodles, and photos I take, with digital tools on the computer to create floral, geometric, and abstract designs. I find creating art to be very meditative. Recently, I've had designs shown at Surtex, Premiere Vision and Inception trade shows. I was also excited to place first and 3rd in 2 pattern design competitions I took part in.
I am formally trained in textile design at the University of Massachusetts and have continued my education online at the Textile Design lab, Make it in Design School and Skillshare courses. I’ve also studied fashion design, fine arts, print making, painting, sewing, and pattern making. I also had the opportunity to work under a batik artist for several years, using the wax and dyeing process to create silk and cotton scarfs. Previously my focus was on making collages, using fabric and found objects, and exhibited at several galleries and expos where I sold all the pieces in my one person show! Other passions include latin dancing, music and dance of all kinds, and homeschooling my son.
My professional design skills include original artwork design, technical repeats, mockups and colorways. Please contact me here, for sales, freelancing, licensing or a custom project.
