As an entrepreneur and CEO, I take risks every day. But my work life began at 15 with an intentionally safe choice -- hostess vs. waitress. (No trays!) I wore a uniform that perpetually smelled like bacon, seated customers, and apologized that it was cold by the window.
Eventually my risk tolerance evolved. Because I walked away from a promising career with General Motors to co-found Special D Events as well as The Anniversary Company. Instead of writing about cars and coordinating dealer training, I moved back into customer satisfaction mode.
At Special D Events, my team and I enable our clients to gather with purpose, managing strategic professional events and business anniversaries. From global leadership summits to live tigers, we roll with it because, happily for me, the world of live events is never boring or “safe.” Life is just too short not to have adventures.
