Khanzada Asfandyar Khattak is from 11th generation of famous Pashtun tribal chief and National Poet of Afghanistan, Khushal Khan Khattak. Asfandyar's ancestors were the Nawabs of Teri (a former princely state comprising present Kohat and Karak districts). Asfandyar was born in the Khankhel family of Gumbat, Kohat and was brought up in Islamabad where he studied from Beaconhouse School till A Level and later did MBA from COMSATS University. Khanzada Khattak learnt Indian Classical Dance from Madame Indu Mitha Jee. From Indu Mitha Jee, Asfandyar learnt Kathak, North Indian Classical Dance and Bharatnatyam - South Indian Classical Dance. Asfandyar is a classical and fusion dance performer. Asfandyar has created a dance fusion of Khattak and Kathak. Through his dance fusion, he wants to give a message of peace and love. He dances on themes such as women rights, child rights, environment, climate change, etc.
