It’s almost #CMHou time again! Thanks to all of you who registered quickly on Monday, and sold out this event so swiftly!! You’ve got your spots! To all of the people who are on the CMHou waitlist—apologies. We have limited capacity. 

Directions & What to Expect:
Doors will open tomorrow morning at 8:30am, at Live Oak Friends Meeting, 1318 West 26th St. Houston 77008. There is a parking lot for LOFM on the west side of the property, as well as head–in parking on 26th St. 

As always, we encourage everyone to carpool if possible. Also, if you live near the area—walk or bike to LOFM. 

Seating at LOFM will be benches, so be prepared to sit right next your neighbors. Since we are at capacity, please don’t take up bench space with bags, etc. 

We will have tacos, coffee and juice outside in the front of the building to greet you as you check in. Please finish your food and coffee before taking a seat. We will not be able to take food or drink in the sitting area. 

Prepare to feast your eyes on James Turrell’s Skyspace—which is in the area you will be seated. *Just a note about the Skyspace. Photos are allowed, but may not be sold.

We’re excited to announce that Patrick Beeson will be speaking at CreativeMornings Houston this month on the subject of “robot." 

It’s pretty fitting to have him speak… Dr. Beeson is a Senior Scientist at TRACLabs Inc., a small AI and robotics research company in the Clear Lake area.

In addition to robot navigation, Dr. Beeson’s research publications deal with developmental learning for robotics, anchoring symbolic knowledge to sensor streams, and human-robot interaction. In addition to researching robotic software, he has also worked on a variety of robotic hardware platforms.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be having a live music performance at CreativeMornings Houston next Friday morning! Trio Henry Darragh, Glen Ackerman, and Richard Cholakian will be performing a jazz set.

About the trio:
Composer/pianist/vocalist/trombonist Henry Darragh has been working with composer/bassist Glen Ackerman for eleven years and drummer Richard Cholakian for three years. The trio has played many parties, weddings, restaurants, listening rooms, radio programs, and other events together, playing mostly swing, funk, bossa nova, and other genres. This jazz group is the rhythm section for Darragh’s larger sextet which adds trumpet, trombone, and tenor saxophone. That sextet recently released Darragh’s second cd, Too Much Monday,which is comprised of five originals, four Standards, and two covers. Ackerman arranged three of the selections and Darragh arranged the others.Cholakian and Ackerman are full-time, freelance musicians, working with other groups, not only playing jazz, but other genres such as rock, blues, and R&B. Ackerman is a bandleader himself, having also recently released his second cd The Glenious Alien Landscape.Darragh freelances mostly as a jazz pianists, vocalist, and trombonist. 

We’re excited to announce that April’s CreativeMornings Houston speaker is Leslie Scates! Leslie is a movement educator, consultant, choreographer, and licensed massage therapist, and will be speaking on the global theme of humility.

We’re stoked to announce Alex “Zú” Arzú as the speaker for CreativeMornings Houston! He’ll be speaking on the global theme of “ink” on March 27th.

About:
Alex “Zú” Arzú was born in 1984 in Augsburg, Germany. He studied architecture at the University of Houston, and is a versatile artist and expert in visual art, digital art, body art, and structural art.

Former clients include Cola, Willie Nelson, MTV Cribs, Kendrick Perkins, Warwick Holdman, Musician Propain, WCW/WWE Torrie Wilson, Red Bryant and Brittany Griner, Houston Midtown Management District “Love you Mural.”

Zú currently has a private studio in East Downtown Houston pursuing a successful career in body art, contemporary art, illustrations, and murals. In addition, he guest lectures and conducts workshops for continuing education for artists in the Houston area.

We can’t wait to announce this month’s speaker! He’ll be addressing the global theme of “ink.” More info coming very soon. Get ready, and save the date for March 27th. That’ll be CreativeMornings Houston time! See ya soon.

Parking Instructions & Directions to the Moran Lecture Hall
It costs $5.00 to park in the parking garage. 

Here are the step by step directions to getting to the Moran lecture hall from the parking garage.
·         Take the elevator down to the 1st floor.
·         At this point take a left toward the glass doors and then an immediate right toward the Museum Store.
·         Walk through the Museum Store until you get to the Grand Entry Hall.
·         When you reach the Grand Entry Hall take a right toward McDonald’s and the Butterfly Center.
·         Just past McDonald’s you will see a set glass doors, enter those doors and walk straight through past the Wiess Energy Hall until you reach the elevator bank.
·         Take the elevator down to the ground level.
·         When you exit the elevator, take a right towards the Moran lecture hall where you will find the CreativeMornings talk.
