March 27 LOCAL Recap & Upcoming Events!

Music, movement, and painting!
What a great time, friends! Last Friday we heard music from Clark Carroll, moved our bodies with Frances Walsh, and after hearing his incredible story, Artie Sandstone inspired us all to create a painting together.

"You have to be willing to try. You have to be willing to fail. We have this one life to live, so let's send it!"

Up the stairs tucked between a couple of Boulder’s amazing restaurants, we got to experience some of Artie’s recent works and catch up over some quick bites.

Then Artie tied both of our headliners themes together by taking us through the trials that brought him to realizing his path as artist. From struggling with neurodivergence as a kid to taking a company public in his early 20’s, through a major climbing accident to meeting his wife, and finally finding his home making art - Artie’s story shows the power of innovation and shifting your perspective.

After all that introspection, we were tapped in to our creative selves and were the second group ever to participate in a collaborative canvas with Artie. We can’t wait to see where he takes all of our doodles!

"Love is the burden we all carry
Love is a heart broken wide.
Love is what ya do when all these vivid hues start to bleed, leaving only black and white
As long as me and you, we’re searching underneath the blue,
I do believe we could win this little life"

"Step beyond self-limiting patterns and into the powerful grounded force of nature you were born to become."

Feb 20 Recap - Keep walking!

“An unhurried pace that is patient, open, undefended, and humble is a force — especially in this time.”

Walking as Creative Wonder – An Morning of Movement, Story, and Courage

Jonathon Stalls
Jonathon Stalls, book WALK Slow Down, Wake Up, and Connectr at 1-3 Miles per Hour.

In a room softened by breath and sound, we were invited to slow down.

The morning began with a simple walk — cold air, open sky, trees as quiet witnesses. Side by side, strangers became companions. Movement wasn’t just physical; it was relational. It was grounding.

Through stories from a cross-country walking journey, we traveled alongside hawks, rain-soaked highways, unexpected “trail angels,” and children rediscovering play. We explored walking as resistance, as dignity, as vulnerability, as human right. We felt the discomfort of mobility injustice. We remembered the innocence of wonder.

January 19 Event Recap - You are the glimmer of hope!

Thank you so much for joining together last week. We danced, we laughed, we cried, and we found our own Koor Soo.Dance To Be Free’s mission is to reduce anxiety and depression for people in prison through the healing power of movement.

“Dancing is . . . A reparative experience that directly contradicts the terror, helplessness and visibility of trauma to enable survivors to reclaim ownership of their bodies and their lives.”

–Bessel A. van der Kolk, MD, Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine, and President of the Trauma Research Foundation.

November, 21 Event Recap — CreativeMornings Boulder

November’s gathering reminded us that growth is both personal and creative — a process of courage, curiosity, and community, embodied by Eric Davis’s transformative journey and the voices of authors who shared their own paths.

Speaker: Eric Davis embodied the theme of Growth by sharing his 15-year healing journey. From battling autoimmune illness in his 20s to discovering the conditions that supported recovery, his story showed how growth often emerges from struggle and reflection.

Community Connection: Attendees resonated deeply, sharing their own stories and questions — a collective moment of growth through vulnerability and dialogue.

Creative Element: Cartoonist Steph Halligan live-doodled during the event, visually capturing the spirit of growth in real time.

30-Second Pitch: Georg Apitz introduced Guardian of the Shoes, the first book in his Magical Shoes series, centered on a teenage heroine — another narrative of growth and discovery. Natalie LevyCash is Queen: A Conscious Journey in Angel Investing, blending personal narrative with conscious capitalism and values‑driven investing.

Event Photos: A gallery link celebrated the collective energy of Boulder’s creative community.
