What an incredible morning we shared together! A massive thank you to Josh Noom for such an inspiring and grounded talk on our global theme: Local.
Josh’s insights into the craft and the intentionality behind building a creative life right where you are resonated deeply with all of us. It was a perfect reminder that being a "local" creative isn’t just about a geographic coordinate—it’s about the roots we sink into our community and the ways we choose to show up for one another.
To Our Community: Thank You
To everyone who filled the room, grabbed a coffee, and brought your energy—thank you. One of the most rewarding parts of these mornings is watching the "Local" theme come to life in real-time. Seeing familiar faces connect with new ones reminds us why this chapter exists. We’ve been able to truly explore and engage in what it means to be a creative community in this shared space, and that is all thanks to your presence and openness.
Coming Up Next: A Special Bridge Event
As we continue to lean into our local roots, we are excited to announce a special partnership that bridges the gap between our professional community and the next generation of talent.
We have officially partnered with the University of Michigan’s Design Day for a guest talk featuring Dolan Personke, owner of Treeswing Studio.
Date: April 11th
Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Location: Taubman Commons (Art and Architecture Building, 2000 Bonisteel Blvd)
While this event is primarily geared toward students, it’s a wonderful opportunity to support the intersection of campus innovation and local studio practice. If you find yourself in the area that morning, feel free to stop by! (Pro tip: the parking lot behind the building is free on weekends.)
Stay Tuned: This is a special collaboration and not our official April CreativeMornings event. Keep an eye out—we’ll be sharing the details for our main monthly gathering very soon!
With gratitude,
CreativeMornings Ann Arbor
