Reflecting on "Local" with Josh Noom

What an incredible morning we shared together! A massive thank you to Josh Noom for such an inspiring and grounded talk on our global theme: Local.

Josh’s insights into the craft and the intentionality behind building a creative life right where you are resonated deeply with all of us. It was a perfect reminder that being a "local" creative isn’t just about a geographic coordinate—it’s about the roots we sink into our community and the ways we choose to show up for one another.

To Our Community: Thank You
To everyone who filled the room, grabbed a coffee, and brought your energy—thank you. One of the most rewarding parts of these mornings is watching the "Local" theme come to life in real-time. Seeing familiar faces connect with new ones reminds us why this chapter exists. We’ve been able to truly explore and engage in what it means to be a creative community in this shared space, and that is all thanks to your presence and openness.

Coming Up Next: A Special Bridge Event
As we continue to lean into our local roots, we are excited to announce a special partnership that bridges the gap between our professional community and the next generation of talent.

We have officially partnered with the University of Michigan’s Design Day for a guest talk featuring Dolan Personke, owner of Treeswing Studio.

Date: April 11th

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Location: Taubman Commons (Art and Architecture Building, 2000 Bonisteel Blvd)

While this event is primarily geared toward students, it’s a wonderful opportunity to support the intersection of campus innovation and local studio practice. If you find yourself in the area that morning, feel free to stop by! (Pro tip: the parking lot behind the building is free on weekends.)

Stay Tuned: This is a special collaboration and not our official April CreativeMornings event. Keep an eye out—we’ll be sharing the details for our main monthly gathering very soon!

With gratitude,

CreativeMornings Ann Arbor

We’re Back! ☕️ A New Year & A Whole Lot of Creativity.

Hi Creative Community,

We kicked off our first event of the year last week, and what a start it was! Holly Bones took the stage to explore the global theme of Camino (Way/Path). We laughed, we cried, and we walked away with more than just full coffee mugs—we left feeling deeply connected, creatively recharged, and ready to see where this year’s journey takes us.

One Path, Many Places
As we leaned into this month's theme of "the path," we want to make sure we’re all walking it together. While our chapter is officially called CreativeMornings Ann Arbor, our heart belongs to and is made up from the entire region.

We want to make one thing very clear: this is a space for everyone.

Whether you are a maker in Ypsilanti, a designer in Chelsea, a writer in Dexter, or an artist in Saline, you belong here. We are committed to being a truly inclusive hub that highlights the incredible talent vibrating across all of Washtenaw County.

Our goal is to ensure that our stage, our audience, and our conversations reflect the full, vibrant diversity of our local creative ecosystem.

Get Involved
Want to help us build this path? We’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re interested in volunteering, sponsoring an upcoming event, or you just have a hilarious meme that the team needs to see, drop us a line!
