We’re looking for a new host in Greenville!

In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg, also known as Swissmiss, started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.

Today, attendees gather in 200+ cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. We call ourselves an engine of generosity and live by our manifesto

Upcoming topic on CReativeMornings/Greenville,NC Friday February 9th , 2024, will be a conversation presented by NYC Queens, DJ Sincere.

The music industry, a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of creativity and commerce, stands at a crossroads. Streaming has fundamentally reshaped the landscape, leaving both commercial and independent artists grappling with new realities. While revenue streams have narrowed, innovation flourishes, offering exciting possibilities for those who navigate the changing currents. So, how can artists, from chart-topping giants to garage-band heroes, find their footing and build sustainable careers in this evolving ecosystem?

For established artists, the game has shifted from album sales to audience engagement. Building strong communities through social media, exclusive content, and interactive experiences becomes paramount. Imagine Taylor Swift not only releasing an album, but hosting virtual listening parties with behind-the-scenes chats, or crafting personalized playlists for fans. Such initiatives foster loyalty, translate into merch sales and live-show attendance, and create a direct connection with listeners, bypassing the streaming middleman.

Livestreaming concerts and collaborating with brands for sponsored content offer additional avenues. The Weeknd’s interactive Super Bowl Halftime Show, where virtual avatars danced alongside him, is a testament to the creative possibilities. Brands, eager to tap into artist audiences, offer lucrative partnerships, while livestreams allow fans to experience shows globally, further monetizing reach.

For the Underdogs: Embracing the Power of Niche

Independent artists thrive on carving their own paths. Streaming platforms, with their vast playlists and algorithms, present an opportunity to reach micro-niches of passionate fans. Genre-specific platforms like Bandcamp provide direct-to-fan sales, while services like Patreon allow fans to directly support artists they love.

Collaboration is key. Teaming up with other independent artists to co-host online shows, record music together, or even share marketing resources can amplify reach and build communities. Think of independent film festivals – collaboration fosters success for all involved.

Embracing technology offers exciting possibilities. AI-powered music composition tools, for instance, can democratize music creation, allowing budding artists to experiment and refine their sound.

Platforms like TikTok, where short, catchy tracks can explode overnight, offer avenues for viral discovery and fan engagement.

The Shared Future: Embracing Innovation and Adaptability

Regardless of fame or genre, every artist faces the challenge of making a living in the streaming era. The key lies in embracing innovation, adaptability, and a diverse approach to revenue generation. Live shows will remain a crucial source of income, offering a shared, emotional experience beyond the digital screen. Merchandising continues to be a reliable income stream, with artists getting creative with personalized items, limited editions, and exclusive collaborations.

Licensing music for films, TV shows, and commercials remains a lucrative option. Composers and musicians can now pitch their work directly through online platforms, bypassing traditional gatekeepers.

Finally, artists must champion fair artist compensation through advocacy and legislation. Ensuring equitable streaming payouts and supporting organizations that fight for artists’ rights is crucial for a sustainable future.

The future of music is a symphony of possibilities, waiting to be composed by artists who embrace change, experiment with new tools, and connect authentically with their audiences. The melody may be different, but the harmony of human expression will continue to resonate, enriching lives and cultures for generations to come.

So, whether you’re a stadium-filling superstar or a bedroom singer with a dream, remember – the future of music belongs to those who dare to adapt, innovate, and share their unique voice with the world. So, pick up your instrument, tune in to the possibilities, and get ready to compose your own melody of success in the vibrant symphony of the future.

Pain Update

CreativeMornings/Greenville, NC has an update for you on the upcoming theme on Pain by @JonnieSparkles - PAIN: Data Loss and How Arweave Alleviates It.

CreativeMornings/Greenville, NC is a brand new only 3 month old chapter of the Worldwide CreativeMornings free Breakfast in over 61 different countries and over 200 cities all over the world. After our inaugural first 2 meetings we lost our in kind venue due to inflationary rent, runaway costs. Talk about Pain? 🤕 We decided to take this unfortunate incident and creatively turn it into an opportunity.

So with the help of some of the creative big muckety mucks over at the forward thinking Arweave, Ardrive, Ar.io, Bazar, Arconnect and Permanent Data Solutions also our Partner Members, @Jerrydoby, @Ikohaus, Creative Activity, DEFF (Down East Flick Fest), Peach AM, and Savor Art & Dine, we have decided to take the local, World Wide.

We thought about how we could get donuts and coffee to everyone WorldWide virtually, and realized Web3 is not exactly ready for that yet at this time and besides most virtual meeting places are too limiting.  Twitter spaces only allow 15 people, Discord can only handle 25, Zoom is cool with 100.

But I remember creating my first collaborative, which was a virtual with an Australian Artist @MaggieBeresford in 2007 on the old original Google Hangouts now Google Meet.

So we will return to the roots with Google meet and have exclusive space for just about 94 people with our Greenville staff included. To make things fair for the whole planet to get creative, RSVP tickets will drop somewhere between Sunday 12/3/2023 and Monday morning 12/4/2023 right here at the top of the https://creativemornings.com/cities/GVL page so you need to watch for it.

Once we reach the limit of the 100 people a waitlist for our next event will open up so you would be eligible to be on a first come first serve case for that one.

Only then and on Thursday December 7th will the link drop for the google meet. Only to those that have RSVP’d to ensure that those who really plan to attend can take advantage of JonnieSprinkles expertise.

That being said  it is what it is and let Creativity flow to all over the planet because right now we sure need it. (Hint hint Arweave Forward research: We Need Our Own WEB3 Permanent Virtual Text/Chat/Video meeting app! ASAP lol)

This upcoming meeting for CreativeMornings/Greenville, NC will be a virtual one and our guest speaker will be Jonathan Policke (aka @JonnieSparkles on X) the Director of Ecosystem Operations for Permanent Data Solutions.

The theme of CreativeMornings for December is Pain and Jonnie’s talk will be titled - PAIN: Data Loss and How Arweave Alleviates It.

The company Jonnie works for Permanent Data Solutions is associated with some very forward and creative thinking partner companies like Arweave, Ardrive, ar.io and BazAR. Together these companies have very different and decentralized solutions for storage of assets.

We look forward to what we believe will be a very unique look at the pain often not associated with common everyday business and decisions on what is done with assets we all value and may not be able to do without.

We invite everyone, creatives, artists, writers, developers, engineers and or just generalists to join our Ikohaus Discord in virtually hosting CreativeMornings/Greenville, NC channel at https://discord.gg/rXPzTWC7 [7 day link].

5-7 days before the event Free RSVP tickets will drop on our CreativeMornings/Greenville, NC website with your channel link invitation. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday December 8th 8:30am to 10:00 am EDT.

Pain

Pain is a complex sensation that can be caused by a variety of factors. It can be acute, meaning it is sudden and short-lived, or chronic, meaning it is persistent and long-lasting. Pain can also be classified as nociceptive, meaning it is caused by damage to tissues, or neuropathic, meaning it is caused by damage to nerves.

Here are some of the most common causes of pain:

  • Injuries: Injuries are one of the most common causes of acute pain. This can include anything from a minor cut or bruise to a serious bone fracture.
  • bone fracture
  • Illnesses: Illnesses can also cause both acute and chronic pain. Some common illnesses that can cause pain include arthritis, cancer, and fibromyalgia.
  • depression

In some cases, the cause of pain is unknown. This is called idiopathic pain.

How Pain Works

Pain is a complex sensation that involves the nervous system, the brain, and the body’s tissues. When you are injured, damaged cells send signals to the spinal cord. The spinal cord then sends these signals to the brain, where they are interpreted as pain.

The brain also plays a role in how you experience pain. For example, if you are feeling anxious or stressed, you may be more likely to feel pain. This is because the brain can amplify pain signals.

The body’s tissues also play a role in pain. For example, if you have arthritis, the cartilage in your joints may be damaged. This can make your joints more sensitive to pain.

How to Manage Pain

There are a number of things you can do to manage pain. These include:

  • Over-the-counter pain relievers: Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, can help to relieve mild to moderate pain.

When to See a Doctor

If your pain is severe or does not improve with home treatment, see a doctor. They can help you to determine the cause of your pain and recommend the best treatment options.
