The Reconstructionists
The Reconstructionists is a collaboration between illustrator Lisa Congdon and writer Maria Popova. A yearlong celebration of remarkable women—beloved artists, writers, and scientists, The Reconstructionists covers the stories of notable unsung heroes—who have changed the way we define ourselves as a culture and live our lives as individuals of any gender.

For the past year, The Reconstructionists would publish an illustrated portrait and lettered quote by the hand of Lisa every Monday, accompanied by a short micro-essay about her life and legacy. Now that 2013 has drawn to a close, the project stands as a testament to collaboration and exists as an archive of wonderful women who have changed the world for the better.
