Talk of the Day: Yoshie Akiba
In this CreativeMornings/Oakland talk, Yoshie Akiba takes us through her early childhood as a war orphan in Japan and into her love of connecting with people through dance and music. She started Yoshi’s Jazz Club in Berkeley, CA to bring people together around jazz music. It took decades before the jazz club turned a profit, but Yoshie continued to fight to keep the jazz club in business, knowing that if she didn’t do it, no one else would.
