Meet our PARALLEL illustrator: OLI

Each month, CreativeMornings has a different theme for the talks given at our local chapter events around the world. It is our tradition to work with an artist in our community to create an illustration for each monthly theme.

Our theme for March is PARALLEL. It was chosen by our Kuala Lumpur chapter in Malaysia and illustrated by OLI.

OLI is a self-taught artist and illustrator from Indonesia, currently based in Kuala Lumpur who uses her art as a medium to preserve her inner child. Drawing inspiration from life’s intricacies, her surreal illustrations are a captivating blend of bizarre imagination and morbid optimism, shaped by delicate lines and bursting colors.

As she entered a new life stage as a mother, her belief in protecting our inner child became more evident in her work. She sees growing up not as a departure from childhood innocence, but as an opportunity to safeguard and nurture the childlike wonder within ourselves.

Listen to how to pronounce OLI’s name.

You can see more of OLI’s work on her site and follow her on Instagram @oliviariferiani.
