New organizers in Antwerp, Vilnius, Jerusalem, and Brisbane!
Meet Wenke Mast, Antwerp, Belgium
Which CreativeMornings chapter would you like to visit and why? All of them! Every time I visit a city I check if there is an event scheduled during my stay. Unfortunately, I have not been lucky. I loved the creative scene in Melbourne when I was there last year but it just wasn’t possible to attend the event. I really felt like I was missing out on something good. So maybe I should just go back one day. Get on a plane and fly a really long time, just to get some breakfast and be inspired. Sounds like fun!
What excites you? Information, learning something new, the feeling I get when I know I am on the right track, buying a new book, meeting new people, doing things I’ve never done before, playing the piano, preparing for my first marathon.
What have you failed at? Lots of stuff, but I have learned from these failures and moved on. I definitely failed at snowboarding. I broke my wrist after 2 hours - you can see my bright pink plaster cast in our application video - but this winter I am getting back on that board!
Who would be the ultimate CreativeMornings speaker? Bruce Springsteen. And it would be awesome if I could host him in Antwerp. Chances are slim, but a girl can dream, can’t she?
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Radically changing nearly everything about my life two years ago and starting over again with some help from family and friends. I do believe the best is yet to come. I mean, come on, I am not even 30 yet.
What is your vision for CreativeMornings/Antwerp? I want the creatives in Antwerp to really connect to one another – and I do not just mean exchanging business cards. I want them to tell great stories everyone can learn from and relate to. I want them to get to know each other and the international CreativeMornings community. And I want to bring some optimism, inspiration and great coffee to everyone’s day.
Meet Lina Vaicekauskaite, Vilnius, Lithuania
Which CreativeMornings chapter would you like to visit and why? Probably New York, I would love to meat the headquarters and in general New York is one of the cities I’m dreaming to visit.
What excites you? Common sense.
What have you failed at? Thinking that I am able to do almost anything alone. It’s so much better when there is a team you can trust.
Who would be the ultimate CreativeMornings speaker? Jason Silva. Did you see his Shots of Awe? Short and shockingly good. ;)
What do you consider your greatest achievement? I overcame my fear of doing business and projects on my own. In other words not to be employed, but create myself and involve people to it.
What is your vision for CreativeMornings/Vilnius? Vilnius is in a way small city. Sometimes it is hard to amaze and attract people. I want CreativeMornings/Vilnius to become a place where people come not only for the speakers, but also to meet someone from the audience. I would love to hear “We met last year in CreativeMorning/Vilnius, had a chat over a cup of coffee and now we are working on amazing project, that we came up together.” Long story short - I want to bring people together.
Meet Marcelle Kaspi, Jerusalem
Which CreativeMornings chapter would you like to visit and why? Probably New York, because that’s where it all started.
What excites you? Getting people together to think and be excited about stuff together.
What have you failed at? So many things. Please refer to achievement question below. Today’s answer: hairdresser choice.
Who would be the ultimate CreativeMornings speaker? I would have to say Elon Musk. He’s making my favorite sci-fi show come true. Making non-fiction out of fiction is pretty high on my creativity scale.
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Every day is full of achievements and failures. It’s only after years of retrospective that we know which are which. Today’s answer: last night’s sourdough bagels.
What is your vision for CreativeMornings/Jerusalem? CreativeMornings/Jerusalem will be the most inspiring event in town. It will be an event where people with great ideas will come to feel at home.
Meet Jacinta Conza, Brisbane, Australia
Which CreativeMornings chapter would you like to visit and why? I would LOVE to visit the New York chapter to meet the founding chapter team and see where all of the magic happens. I also feel like the Vancouver team are always having a lot of fun and doing an epic job, so I would totally love to crash their party too and bring all of my Canadian friends while I’m at it!
What excites you? Food, dogs, anything Japanese, and possibility.
What have you failed at? Most yoga poses, at least once. I have also failed multiple times at being patient and letting the universe run it’s course. Sometimes the universe runs too slow for my liking.
Who would be the ultimate CreativeMornings speaker? For me, I think Pharrell Williams, Steve Jobs or Tinker Hatfield. All absolute legends. I know you said one but I couldn’t pick!
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Surviving design school and then taking a chance on love and moving away from all friends, family and familiarity to come to Brisbane. And now, becoming Brisbane chapter host!
What is your vision for CreativeMornings/Brisbane? I see a theme of constant collaboration between organisations, companies and individuals that were connected through meeting at CreativeMornings. It is a hub for all things creative and we know what’s going on everywhere, in all industries. Brisbane is proven to be JUST as cool as our rad neighbours in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. (hi guys!)
