Morning Person of the Day: Ricardo Diaz

Meet Ricardo Diaz, partner, executive director of digital at Omelet and CreativeMornings/LosAngeles attendee!

What is your first and/or most meaningful CreativeMornings experience?

One of my favorite Creative Mornings was the very first CreativeMornings in Los Angeles, almost seven years ago. The speaker was Zach Flechette talking about the beginnings of GOOD magazine. It was important to me for two reasons. First, it was great to see a community of LA people tied together by a passion for creativity. You really felt the inspiring energy being there in the audience. Secondly, I felt it symbolized a time when LA was starting to go through a creative evolution; it was less about film and more around the other arts. Being a native Angelo it was pretty great to be a part of it.

Describe the work that you do and the impact you’re trying to make.

I have been leading digital teams in Advertising for the last 25 years. I love how technology has enabled new and interesting ways to tell brand stories. I love seeing innovation evolve our culture. And I really love to do things that have never been done before.

What are your ideal conditions for your creativity?

My ideal conditions for creativity is my laptop, wifi, power charger, headphones and half cup of coffee. Once I have that there is nothing I can’t do.

What would you consider your superpower? Why and how do you use it for good?

My superpower is seeming calm and collected on the outside, while freaking the fuck out on the inside. It has helped me tremendously at school and my career. 😃

Tell me something about yourself that I can’t find on Google.

The internet knows way too much about me to be honest. I’m okay with that but also realizing the ramifications of that.
