Morning Person of the Day: Meera Lee Patel
Meet Meera Lee Patel (@merelymeeralee), writer, illustrator, and CreativeMornings/NewYork attendee.
What is your first and/or most meaningful CreativeMornings experience?
I went to my first CreativeMornings to see John Bunch talk about leveraging risk. It was an interesting time to listen to someone else’s experience with risk: I wasn’t ready to dive into my own, but being immersed in an entire room of people who harbored the same excitement and fears as me made me feel exponentially less alone – and that’s when all of my change began.
Describe the work you do and the impact you’re trying to make.
My hope is to tell stories with my work – my own stories and the stories of others. I try my best to make work that helps people connect with themselves, each other, and the world around them.
If you could open a door and go anywhere, where would you go and why?
To the moon, which takes care of us in its quiet and unrelenting way.
What inspires you? Why?
Every small story that often goes untold – a smile shared between strangers or unexpected sunshine. I find it inspiring that with each minute, everything has the ability to change.
Tell us something about yourself that we can’t find on Google.
I can eat a XXXL pizza pie, in it’s entirety, by myself – I have 4 times. I don’t feel that great after.
