Meet Our Pride Illustrator: Kayla Griffin
A monthly theme inspires new conversations and ideas that we otherwise wouldn’t think about. At our virtual events, speakers are invited to share a story around the theme and what it means to them. After a month, we are excited to see the talks and inspiration that are born out of the theme.
Given that these monthly illustrations are at events all around the world, it’s only right that we get to know the illustrator. It is a tradition at CreativeMornings to work with an artist in our community to create an illustration for the monthly theme.
CreativeMornings/Palm Beach chose August’s exploration of Pride and Kayla Griffin created the accompanying illustration.
We’re excited to share some of our favorite artworks created by Kayla!

Artist Statement
In crafting this concept, I focused on encapsulating the essence of pride. It’s what fills your heart when you’re watching your child perform on stage, land your first job, or cross a finish line. It’s an overwhelming sensation as if your heart could overflow.
For this illustration, I represented the “heart of pride”, brimming to the verge of bursting, filled with symbols of the many aspects that stir pride in us: from education to accomplishments, owning a home, our children, the beauty of nature, the achievement of peace, and all things big and small that we take pride in.
My intention is that, when people look at this, they recall the most recent instance when their heart was swollen with pride, and feel inspired not just to remember, but to celebrate and relive that precious moment.
