Meet Our Design Illustrator: Olivier Charland

A monthly theme inspires new conversations and ideas that we otherwise wouldn’t think about. At our virtual events, speakers are invited to share a story around the theme and what it means to them. After a month, we are excited to see the talks and inspiration that are born out of the theme.

Given that these monthly illustrations are at events all around the world, it’s only right that we get to know the illustrator. It is a tradition at CreativeMornings to work with an artist in our community to create an illustration for the monthly theme.

CreativeMornings/Trois-Rivières chose October’s Design theme, and Olivier Charland created the accompanying illustration.

We’re excited to share some of our favorite artworks created by Olivier!

About Olivier Charland

Olivier Charland is a freelance art director & designer living and working in Montreal, His work spans across different mediums while maintaining a playful and sensitive approach and a desire to bring joy through colors.

He has worked for a variety of brands and studios, including Aldo, Universal Music Group, Red Bull, Vallée Duhamel, Cirque du Soleil, Sid Lee, Collins NYC, Pentagram, Sagmeister & Walsh, and most recently Apple with their global design team in California.

His painting and illustration style is derived from a strong need to express feelings through abstract compositions. The work is calculated sparks of movement, blurring the line between the digital and the spontaneity of a pencil stroke, highlighting how we curate and calculate the emotions we show to the world.
