Lasers! Pew! Pew!
Laser Cat! Laser Cat! Laser Cat! Laser Cat eats art. So far he’s consumed a little over 15k works of art, and he wants to eat yours, too!
The glitterific laserfied installation is the work of Barcelona-based studio Hungry Castle, who are likely best known for their inflatable Lionel Richie head or hamburger spandex collection. It’s no surprise that the crazy folks at Hungry Castle spoke at our Barcelona chapter on Februrary’s theme of Rebel.
Laser Cat’s lasers aim to burn them a very indelible hole in the map forever. Featuring Stefan Sagmeister, Milton Glaser, Banksy, David Lynch, James Victore, David O’Reilly, and Tara McPherson—just to name a few—Laser Cat will be projecting art projects from the world onto walls, building, and, if a million people submit their work, Laser Cat promises to project it onto the moon.
“Have you ever seen art projected on the moon? No? Then you better start feeding me.”
— Laser Cat
Laser Cat met up with our friends at Shutterstock and picked out some of his favorite works from the 15,327 submitted so far. See what he (and those Hungry Castle people) picked out here.
There are only a few days left until the ADC Festival of Art + Craft in Advertising, where Laser Cat is set to debut, so get your art in before it’s too late. Pew pew!
