“I felt like I was waiting for life to happen to me. And eventually I just got sick of that feeling and decided to do something.”

Kate Sweeney didn’t get to realize her dream of studying photography at art school in the big city. But she picked up a camera, connected with her community, and eventually built the career she wanted. The lesson of her talk for our Columbus chapter is that “blossoming doesn’t depend on location, credentials, or ideal conditions. It depends on showing up and creating your own soil.“
