DJ Jim Q's Playlist: Ink
As you might expect, there are more than a few songs this month about tattoos. I did my best to stretch outside of that narrow definition of Ink, but it is what it is. There aren’t a lot of printers out there singing about pantones, screens and heidelbergs. Nevertheless, I think I have pulled together some great tracks for this month, I hope you agree.
From the bubble-gum rock of The Shocking Blue’s innuendo filled “Ink Pot”, to Driicky Grahams, catchy party jam “Snap Backs and Tattoos”, I’ve got all your ink-themed favorites in one place. I probably shouldn’t have put the Birthday Party so close to The Fall in the line-up, it might be a little jarring that early in the playlist, but think of them as a couple of dark sludgy ink spots on an otherwise pristine drawing, it adds character.
The header background image I used this month was pulled from Mark Mawson’s beautiful ink in water series “Aqueous Rainbow Skies”“Aqueous Rainbow Skies” check it out, stunning stuff. He was nice enough to let me use his artwork to accompany the post.
I say it every time, but I really do appreciate feedback and suggestions. Let me know you like the playlist or if you think I missed a great track, post it in the comments below. And if you’re so inclined, please share the playlists on twitter. Thanks! See you next month.
