Here are the Community Minutes from our last event!
Last month Carl mentioned the tech company he’s started called Wurqs, a self-development platform, focusing on emotional intelligence and empathy - and an associated monthly series called Everybody Wurqs. He’s looking for illustrators and animators to work with - get in touch!
Chloe’s shoutout was for her friend Marie who works for Ink Global and is looking for a freelance digital content strategist to work on Eurostar’s Metropolitan Magazine. Ideally looking for someone with a journalism and video content background with previous experience developing digital content for brands.
Peter’s the mind behind London Serendipity Week and he’s relaunching Wok+Wine in London on April 26th. Wok+Wine helps you to find the people (and opportunities) you didn’t know you were looking for. An evening of delicious jumbo prawns and wine and even more deliciously surprising conversation.
Anisah started a coding school for women in London with a one-for-one model - for every paying student they teach a disadvantaged woman in India how to code. They’re looking for coders and designers to join the team! Get in touch and do something brilliant together!
Elise is one of the great people at By Other Means art gallery in Clapton. They’re hosting lots of intensive art workshops and you can get an exclusive 20% off by using the code *createbyothermeans*. Vanessa’s doing her Masters research on how we can help people find their purpose and passion and she’s looking for stories from anyone with how/what they’ve done.
Gerry’s part of Flyy Tech and wants to bring learnings from their experience with startups and acceleration programmes to other industries. He’s looking for people in businesses that are desperate for innovation, or if you have hacks to recommend to people in different creative industries.
Sam’s into music and he manages bands, and one day he set himself a challenge to be more creative. He decided on a new creative theme each month in a year and produced something at the end of each month. It was a life-changing experience and he wants to roll this out to other people. He’s looking for another digital/ideas-person to help kick this off - get involved!

Jay’s works for UI Centric and is looking for web/digital design people to work specifically with big brands involved in US broadcasting.
On the theme of Taboo and making mistakes, Billie pointed us to Fuckup Night - a global movement to share business failure stories where each speaker is given less than 10 minutes to tell the audience about their biggest fuckup. Check out Billie’s site “The Crazy Ones” below.
Priya’s part of the wonderful CM team and her project Yaha Archive is live! She’s putting together a people’s history of South Asians in Britain through family archives and vernacular photography. Submissions are now open - get involved and spread the word! She’s up for a coffee with anyone who wants to speak about archiving, digitising, curating, decolonial histories and the South Asian diaspora.
Anna wants to run a creative get-together in Kent - something like CM - and is looking for anyone who is keen, wants to talk or wants to help to make some magic happen.
Aino is part of Beyond, a design and technology ideas company. They’re looking for runners to help test their new iOS app - get in touch!
