William Burg writes books and articles about Sacramento history. He is currently president of Preservation Sacramento, an Urban Hive member. His latest book is “Wicked Sacramento” about the West End, Sacramento’s lost neighborhood. The West End was a mixed-use, multiracial community of extraordinary diversity at the heart of downtown, demolished in the name of civic hygiene and higher real estate values. His talk will focus on young entrepreneurs who established creative businesses in the West End during the early 20th Century. The stories of Sacramento’s creative class of 1910 were lost for decades—William will demonstrate how their innovation can inspire business and community leaders a century later.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
