Theme 26: Ugly

Tell a good story. Tell a story that is important to you.

That wound and that thing that makes you hurt—that makes you do things to yourself that are unkind—is the thing that can be transformed into something radically beautiful.

Humour is a social way of being regressive.

Don't be afraid of the unknown, embrace the white wall and replace your fear with curiosity.

It's ok to identify with bits and pieces, you don't have to be known for just one thing.

Find out who you are and never let go.

My whole goal is just to speak from the heart.

Speaking- which is the most humbling thing; standing in front of a room full of your peers, if I don't trust what I'm saying then it's going to sound like a bunch of crap to you.

You have to trust yourself before anyone else can trust you.

If you can't find what you are looking for, create it yourself.

Learn from your failures. Everybody fails at one point of another but whether or not you learn from them is what makes the difference.

It's not only important to be passionate about the projects you work for but also the people you work with.

Work on projects that you are passionate about.

It is very important to set goals: long-term goals and short-term goals.

If you look at the surface of something and it's ugly, look a little closer and investigate a little more and there's probably more to it.

Always have a bottle of champagne in the fridge... Celebrate the successes... On a regular ugly Tuesday morning, open the fridge to get the bottle of milk and there's the bottle of champagne... that little reminder.

No solamente es querer, la idea es ser exigente, tener mejores referentes para poder exigirnos, si uno tenemos referentes básicos el nivel de mejorar es mínimo.

Focus on the Art and the money will come.

I chose to do this because it makes me who I am today.

If we are alone, if we are not surrounded by those we love, if we are usurped by the evil, even the faces of beautiful people or such a beautiful country like Albania, looks ugly.

Es muy feo decir que no hay talento... creo que en lo que en realidad sucede, y eso si es muy ugly, es que no hay misiones.

Dentro de una misión se debe delegar y confiar ... o despedir.

Importa el qué, no el cómo. Cuando tienes un qué, todos saben a donde van.

Cuando estás en una misión, no te molesta trabajar un fin de semana, no te lo tomas a mal, porque estás invirtiendo horas en alcanzar esa idea.

Hay misiones, o visiones o ideas... que son compañías donde la gente está ahí no sólo por la paga, si no por una idea... un sueño compartido.

Problema 3: Falta de planes. Imagínense cuánto talento hay desperdiciado en lugares dónde sólo se espera cobrar el cheque a fin de mes.

Problema 2: Prejuicios. Hay mucha información e inspiración escondidas entre lo que despreciamos.

¿Es la manera pedir un CV y un portafolio para encontrar talento? ¿Se recogen las habilidades y skills? Algunas sí, pero probablemente no toda la persona.

Para un niño pequeño, una máquina de escribir, es una impresora wireless y una polaroid es una impresora que imprime fotos de instagram...

Los misfits son personas que por lo general suelen no encajar... que tienen un talento, pero nadie los veía, ni les daba una oportunidad.

When you come together to share new ideas, and look at things that are challenging or ugly, means that we face things and talk about things that may be frightening.
