Our speaker at the September 2011 CreativeMornings/SanFrancisco was artist and illustrator Lisa Congdon. In her talk, Lisa reflects on her year long “A Collection a Day" project and how the growing visual trend of “things organized neatly" appeals to us in not only an intriguing but also a delightfully calming way.

About the speaker

Lisa Congdon is a San Francisco-based artist and illustrator. She is best known for her colorful paintings and detailed pencil drawings. Limited edition fine art prints are available on 20x200. She is the author of A Collection A Day, which was spawned from a 2010 internet project. Lisa and her work have been featured in Martha Stewart Living, The New York Times, Dwell, The San Francisco Chronicle and 7×7 Magazine along with countless art and design blogs. Her illustration clients include Chronicle Books, Harper Collins, Random House, Target, Urban Outfitters and Land of Nod. She lives in the Mission district with her partner, chihuahua and two cats.
